OAuth + .edu verification

Student access with Google OAuth and .edu verification.

The production path is explicit: Google OAuth establishes account identity, the school email must end in .edu, and the server issues a referral code only after verification. If OAuth credentials are unavailable, the page fails safely instead of faking a student login.

  1. Student clicks Google verification. If OAuth env vars are missing, the site shows a setup-pending state instead of faking login.
  2. Student submits a .edu email, school, graduation year, and optional referrer code.
  3. Server stores a hashed email, school domain, source, consent acknowledgment, referral code, and referrer code.
  4. Leaderboard aggregates verified student signups by school domain.
